I was particularly moved by this quote in the video dedicated to Joseph Campbell’s Hero’s Journey. It’s relevant to every instance of life and fiction.

I love the video about how to write descriptively too. I always try to be as tactile as possible with my writing, but sometimes I can get bogged down and too wordy. It was useful to see good examples of descriptive writing.

And oh the video of nominalizations… I needed to hear this, haha. Keep active, punchy words and don’t try to extend them into zombies. Got it.

And the pleasure of poetic pattern is so wonderful! I never quite understood why certain rhythmic structures are favored over others, but reviewing assonance and consonance was a great refresher for ways to artfully improve prose.
